Defining Your Context with the Header
Learn about the Dashboard Header, where you can switch between personal accounts, organizations, and regions.
Switching Between Accounts and Regions
Ready for one of Galaxy's superpower features? You can switch context instantly. This is huge when you're working across multiple projects or collaborating with teams.
Account Selector
Look at the top-left, right next to the Galaxy logo. This dropdown lets you switch between your personal account and any organizations you're part of.
Team Collaboration
Organizations are perfect for team collaboration. Multiple developers can manage apps and databases together from one shared workspace. Want to create a new organization? Just select "New Organization" from this menu.
Personal Account: Your solo projects and personal stuff goes here.
Organizations: Team spaces where you collaborate with other developers.
Region Selector
Located immediately to the right of the account selector, this is how you manage resources in different geographical locations.
Galaxy runs across three main regions:
| Region Code | Region Name | Location |
|---|---|---|
| us-east-1 | US East | Virginia, USA |
| ap-southeast-2 | Asia-Pacific | Sydney, Australia |
| eu-west-1 | EU West | Dublin, Ireland |
Check Your Region
You need to be in the correct region context to view and manage your resources. If you can't find an app or database, check your region selector first.
