Billing Menu
Manage everything related to payments and costs. Payment method, current usage, invoices, coupons, and savings plans. No surprises, no hidden fees.
The Billing page is titled Personal Billing for personal accounts and Organization Billing for organizations. Both show the same sections described below.
Billing & Payment Method
The Billing & Payment Method section sits at the top of the page. It shows the credit card currently configured for your account, along with the name and billing address on file.
Click Update Billing to change your payment information. This opens a 3-step wizard:
- Personal information: First name, last name, email, company name, VAT number (if applicable)
- Address: Your billing address
- Payment method: Update credit card details
Once you complete the wizard, Galaxy saves your billing information for future charges.
Your Payment Info Is Secure
Your payment information is encrypted and secure. Galaxy follows industry-standard security practices.
Savings Plan
Below the payment method, you'll see a "Get 20% OFF with our Savings Plan" block. Pay annually and receive 20% off your total hosting costs. Click Learn More to explore the savings plan options.
See the Savings Plan guide for full details on how it works.
Coupon Code
The Coupon Code section shows your current promo status ("No active promo" if none is applied). Enter a promo code in the field and click Apply to activate it. Click Manage Coupon to view all redeemed codes, their state (Active or Inactive), and redemption dates.
See the Redeeming a Coupon Code guide for step-by-step instructions.
Current Usage
The Current Usage section shows how much you've been charged so far this billing period. It displays the total amount, a METEOR APPS badge indicating the scope, and the date range covered (e.g., "Usage between March 1st and March 21st").
Meteor Apps Only
Current Usage shows charges for Meteor Apps only. It does not include Web Apps or database charges. For a complete breakdown of all resource costs, click View Invoices.
Click View Invoices to see detailed charges from previous months. Download PDF copies, see itemized breakdowns, review payment history, and keep records for accounting.
When Are Invoices Generated?
Invoices are usually generated on the same date each month. Check them after your billing date to see what you were charged.
Usage Summary
Below the main billing card, the Usage Summary section gives you a detailed breakdown of consumption for any billing period.
Use the Period dropdown to select which period to view. The default is Current Month, which shows the date range in progress.
Two summary cards show:
Total Hours: The total container-hours consumed during the selected period.
Total Cost (Dollars): The total dollar amount for that period.
Below the summary cards, the Usage Breakdown section shows a per-resource breakdown of what contributed to your costs. If no apps ran during the period, it shows "No usage data available for this period."
How Billing Works
Managing Costs
Review monthly. Spend a few minutes each month checking your invoice. Make sure everything looks right.
Track usage. Keep an eye on what you're using. Costs creeping up? Time to optimize resources or change how you're running things.
Use coupons. Never leave promotional codes on the table. Discount offered? Apply it immediately.
Plan for growth. Scaling up apps and databases? Expect costs to increase. Budget accordingly.
Optimize resources. Look for opportunities: consolidate apps, optimize database queries, clean up unused resources. Less usage means lower bills. Stopping unused apps saves money quickly.
Small Optimizations Add Up
Check app and database resource usage regularly. Sometimes a simple optimization, like removing an unused app or downscaling a database, saves significant money.
