Billing Menu

Manage everything related to payments and costs. Payment method, current usage, invoices, coupons, and savings plans. No surprises, no hidden fees.

Payment Method

Your current payment method is displayed right at the top of the Billing page.

You'll see what type of payment you have on file (credit card type and last 4 digits) along with basic details. Click "Update Billing" whenever you need to change payment information: expired card, switching cards, or changed billing address.

Clicking "Update Billing" opens a 3-step wizard:

  1. Personal information: First name, last name, email, company name, VAT number (if applicable)
  2. Address: Your billing address
  3. Payment method: Update credit card details

Once you complete the wizard, Galaxy saves your billing information for future charges.

Your payment information is encrypted and secure. Galaxy follows industry-standard security practices.

Current Usage

See exactly what you're using and what it costs during the current billing period.

The Current Usage section breaks down consumption so far this month: total charged, which resources contributed, and the date range covered. Updated regularly so you always know where you stand.

One note: current usage shows Meteor Apps billing only. It doesn't include Web Apps or database charges. For a complete breakdown of all costs across all resource types, check your invoices.

Click "View Invoices" to see detailed charges from previous months. Download PDF copies, see itemized breakdowns, review payment history, and keep records for accounting.

Invoices are usually generated on the same date each month. Check them after your billing date to see what you were charged.

Coupons

Got a promotional code? Use it to get discounts.

The Coupons section shows all your available discount codes. Filter by code name if you have multiple. Each coupon shows its code, state (Active or Inactive), discount amount or type, and redemption date.

To apply a new coupon, find the coupon code field on the main Billing page. Enter your promo code and click Apply. The discount reflects instantly.

Once applied, see how much discount you're getting, check expiration dates, and manage coupons from this page. Keep an eye on expiration dates so you don't lose a discount.

Savings Plans

Committed to Galaxy for the long haul? Savings plans offer real value.

A savings plan means paying upfront for a full year instead of month-to-month. You get a significant discount compared to paying monthly for the same year. Plus, your rate stays locked in for that entire year, protecting you from price increases.

Savings plans make sense if:

  • Your app is stable and you'll need hosting for at least a year
  • You want predictable costs with no surprises
  • You want to save money by committing upfront

Don't feel pressured if you're unsure about long-term needs. Start with monthly billing and switch to a savings plan later when you're confident.

How Billing Works

Managing Costs

Review monthly. Spend a few minutes each month checking your invoice. Make sure everything looks right.

Track usage. Keep an eye on what you're using. Costs creeping up? Time to optimize resources or change how you're running things.

Use coupons. Never leave promotional codes on the table. Discount offered? Apply it immediately.

Plan for growth. Scaling up apps and databases? Expect costs to increase. Budget accordingly.

Optimize resources. Look for opportunities: consolidate apps, optimize database queries, clean up unused resources. Less usage means lower bills. Stopping unused apps saves money quickly.

Check app and database resource usage regularly. Sometimes a simple optimization, like removing an unused app or downscaling a database, saves significant money.
